Cheers to Burns - Tuesday 25th of January

Cheers to Burns - Tuesday 25th of January

'Burns Night' is a celebration of the life and work of Robert Burns. Thought by many to be the Greatest Scot, Robert Burns and his work has been celebrated all over the world for more than 200 years.

The 25th Jan is the birth date of Robert Burns, and each year, millions gather across the globe to share his work, enjoy glorious haggis and sip on a wee whisky or two.

Burns Night was first celebrated in 1801 on the date of his death, 21st July, at the Burns family home in Alloway by nine of his dearest friends… and it has grown every year since.

This year, we have prepared a menu for you to try at home. It’s tasty, fun and easy to whip-up.

As you enjoy, dig out a book or two on Burns and have a blast at reciting a poem or two… it does get much easier after a dram!

The start...

Glenfiddich 15yo: A sensational Speyside single malt, with notes of warm spice, honey and rich fruits.

Served with a nice scotch egg, greens and pickled onions.

middle...

Arran 18yo: Full flavoured with caramelised citrus, tropical fruits and toasted oak.

Enjoyed with Haggis, neeps and tatties with a peppercorn sauce*. (*add a glug of whisky to your sauce)

...and the end

Jura 18yo: Rich, yet vibrant with flavours of citrus, honey and red berries.

Sipped alongside cranachan: Raspberry compote, whipped cream, and crumbled meringue with a generous honey drizzle.
